Now is the perfect opportunity to reach out and help someone. You can be involved in an annual event to help others at a level that best fits your schedule – you don’t even have to be at the event!
The Healing Patch for grieving children and their families is one of 18 non-profit agencies participating in the 2nd Annual Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community on June 2, 2012 at Central Park in Johnstown. Walkers can complete either a 1- mile fun walk or a 5K walk. We are striving to exceed last year’s fundraising efforts… so we need your help!
We encourage you to participate in any way you can! We need walkers, “virtual walkers”, and individuals to promote the event in the community. Every dollar makes a difference!The process is simple…
1) Go to http://www.walkforahealthycommunity.org/ and select Johnstown;
2) Select Registration and click on Home Nursing Agency Healing Patch;
3) You can then register as an individual or as a group/family. Once registered, you can create your own walk page to e-mail or share through social media (FaceBook, twitter, LinkedIn, etc.) encouraging others to sponsor you, join your team, or simply “get the word out”. You can personalize your walk page with pictures or share your story by walking in memory of a loved one. Highmark will be providing t-shirts the day of the event to all registered walkers donating/raising $25 or more.
4) There is also the option of registering as a “virtual walker” in which you can pledge a donation without actually walking on the day of the event.
