8/16/2022 Family Hospice, Part of UPMC, is offering free grief support options this fall at the UPMC Home Healthcare/Family Hospice offices throughout West Central Pennsylvania, as well as a virtual option for widows/widowers.

For everyone’s safety, all participants are required to wear a mask. There are no exceptions, and social distancing will be implemented. Space is limited. Blair

Groups will be held at the UPMC Home Healthcare/Family Hospice office, 20 Sheraton Drive, Altoona (beside Outback Steakhouse). Groups will be held on Mondays from Sept. 12 - Oct. 17 from 1 – 2:30 p.m. Family Hospice Social Worker Kelly Cherry is facilitating this group for attendees to share their feelings with others who are grieving. Register by Sept. 6. 

Cambria

Groups will be held at the UPMC Home Healthcare/Family Hospice office, 118 Ebony Road, Ebensburg. Groups will be held on Wednesdays from Sept. 7 - Oct. 12 from 11 a.m. - Noon. Family Hospice Bereavement Coordinator Jennifer Cox is facilitating this group for attendees to share their feelings with others who are grieving. Register by Sept. 2.

Centre

Groups will be held at the UPMC Home Healthcare/Family Hospice office, 450 Windmere Drive, Suite 100 (back entrance), State College. Groups will be held on Tuesdays from Sept. 20 - Oct. 25 from 1-2 p.m. Family Hospice Volunteer & Bereavement Coordinator Carole Palmer and Family Hospice Bereavement Volunteer Vicky Schirm are facilitating this group for attendees to share their feelings with others who are grieving. Register by Sept. 16. 

Huntingdon

Groups will be held at the St. James Lutheran Church, 525 Mifflin St., Huntingdon. Groups will be held on Thursdays from Sept. 15 - Oct. 20 from 11 a.m. - Noon. Family Hospice Volunteer & Bereavement Coordinator Carole Palmer and Family Hospice Social Worker Karen Kuntz are facilitating this group for attendees to share their feelings with others who are grieving. Register by Sept. 12.

 

Navigating Loss

Virtual Workshop with Author Donna Marie Todd

Participants will need an email account to receive the meeting invitation and should plan to participate on a computer or smartphone. A copy of the book Navigating Loss: A Survival Guide for the Newly Widowed will be provided if participants do not already have it. Registration is required. This workshop is funded by the Home Nursing Agency Foundation.
